Arabian Nights - Tales of 1001 Ropes

This picture was inspired by an impressive piece of renaissance
art. From 1581 to 1582 the Italian artist Giambologna worked on his
famous sculpture depicting the capture of the Sabine women.
It is a complex, vertical arrangement of three persons, which
has to be walked around to fully grasp the scene.
I modified the scene for this, but the poses of the three persons in
this picture still resemble the poses of the persons in the original.

Another strong element here, is the nod towards 1950'ties
and 1960'ties movies, about adventures in oriental settings
(like Sin(d)bad, etc...).
At first I wanted to give my Chrissy (the purple haired girl)
and Alyssa (the blonde) a set of clothes fitting the scene,
but in the end I stuck with modern day dresses.
Thus it's all up to the background now, to give the pic that
atmosphere. I had to put alot of work into the background,
but I am not really satisfied with it.

Someone mentioned I should better call it "Tales of 1001 Gags"
and I gotta admit that title appeals to a big gag-maniac like me.

I guess one can sum up the final result as a bondage-harem fantasy.
